Help us bring banya culture to Calgary.

Winter Sun is building a network of backyard banyas and dacha-style gardens—quiet, beautiful spaces that help people reconnect with their bodies, with the seasons, and with each other. We’re looking for thoughtful, self-motivated craftspeople to help us build them. You’ll work on high-quality projects with minimal bureaucracy and a small, committed crew. You’ll be working independently much of the time, following detailed build plans and checklists. Our systemized approach includes clear, step-by-step plans. You’ll be expected to document your work with brief notes or photos—for example, confirming that a frame is square, tile gaps are consistent, etc.

You’ll take part in nearly every stage of the build—from insulation and cladding to sauna benches and patios. We’re especially interested in candidates who can contribute ideas to improve the process and enjoy learning new skills. You’ll be provided with tools and safety equipment on site. This is a project-based position, with hours depending on our current build schedule.

Base pay ranges from $22/hour to $25/hour depending on skill level. Weekly cash bonuses for successful work can bring the total compensation to $25-$30/hour. We offer generous bonuses and profit sharing for high-output teams. Occasional perks (like retreats or parties) are all part of the job.
